Mike Frei

Mike combines banking experience and data science with applied AI and custom software development. He understands business teams’ questions from his own experience and translates them into data, models and applications that work in day-to-day practice.

He spent seven years at Credit Suisse, progressing from a commercial apprenticeship to serving high-net-worth private clients and entrepreneurs. Building on this experience, he specialised in machine learning and natural language processing. His work includes retrieval-augmented generation, fine-tuning language models and deep learning models for medical imaging data at University Hospital Zurich.

At kumai, he applies this knowledge to delivering data, BI and AI solutions, from data foundations and reporting to prototypes and AI-enabled applications. He works closely with clients’ teams so that solutions are understood, used and developed further.
